Welcome to Brussels
Our summer program just keeps growing: this year 70 students from 23 different countries joined the “Doing Business in Europe” program at The American Business School.
Part of the experience includes a visit to Brussels to discover the European Union: the European commission, one of the three main European institutions organized a conference presenting the institutions and issues posed by the enlargement of the EU and how econmic issues and business interests affect political decisions.
This year, our summer students went to the American Chamber of Commerce “AmCham Europe” which represents the interests of American companies in the European Union. The presentation was titled “influencing the EU Agenda- a Business Perspective” and explained how their organization lobbies the commission and the European Council on behalf of its members and shapes policy decisions.
After the conference, we visited the city and ate a delicious Belgium meal.
